Ventura Beach Marriott

They have updated their rooms since my last stay, they needed it. They are also doing some other renovations that are nearing completion. The servi e is good and the M club is nice for breakfast and evening snacks. Real close walk to the beach, In-out burger and other places to eat or walk.

I’ve been coming to the Ventura Beach Marriott every year for nearly a decade, and watching its transformation has been genuinely impressive. What was once a somewhat mid-90s, slightly stodgy hotel has evolved into a bright, beautifully designed, open, and welcoming space that feels both modern and comfortable without losing its relaxed coastal vibe. One of the things that keeps bringing me back is how thoughtfully the hotel approaches accessibility. I require an accessible room, and over the years I’ve stayed in four different accessible room layouts here. Each one has been well designed and, importantly, truly accessible, something that frequent disabled travelers know is not always the case. The bathrooms, layout, and mobility features feel intentional rather than like an afterthought, which makes a huge difference in being able to relax and actually enjoy a stay. The location is another major plus. The hotel is just a short walk from the beach, and there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and interesting places nearby if you want to explore. But the best part is that you don’t even have to leave the hotel to have a wonderful time. The property itself is comfortable, welcoming, and easy to spend a full day enjoying, whether that means relaxing in the common areas, grabbing a bite, or simply soaking up the easygoing Ventura atmosphere. After ten years of annual visits, this hotel has become something of a tradition for me, and it continues to exceed expectations. It’s a wonderful example of how a property can evolve over time while becoming more welcoming, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone who walks through its doors. I’m already looking forward to my next stay.

The overall experience of this hotel is pretty good. It's a short walk to the beach, a short drive to 101, has a lot of food options nearby, and the room is comfortable. The devil is in the details and there are some opportunities for this hotel to polish up. First, the lounge is only available during the week (you won't find snacks on Friday night) and as far as lounge food goes though, it's pretty good, if a little simple and limited for this size hotel. Second, you won't be offer a bottle of water when you check in, there won't be one in your room, nor will there be any in the lounge. If you want water, buy it in the lobby (or bring it). It's been a long time since I've been to a Marriott that sleeps on this minor detail. Third, when you end up in the restaurant, the bench seats are low for the table. You'll feel like a kid again, reaching up to your food. Some of the experiences other reviewers had about cleanliness weren't my experience. Everything I saw was clean and well taken care of. Lounge, common areas, rooms were all immaculate. The staff I encountered at the desk, in the lounge, the restaurant, and housekeeping were all delightful. Overall, it's a good experience.

Ventura Beach Marriott has always been a favorite for having family come into town! Great location next to the freeway and beach, and you can't go wrong with In-n-Out across the street. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and exactly what you expect from a Marriott. However, a few small but important details didn’t match typical Marriott standards. At the pool, there were no clean towels available. We asked the front desk, and they said housekeeping would bring some out, but none ever arrived. We ended up having to walk back to our room wet, which shouldn’t happen at a full-service property. There were not extra towels in the room that could be brought to the pool. Another issue was the refillable body wash container in the shower, it was completely empty. If the hotel is moving toward refillable amenities, they need to ensure they’re actually maintained. Empty containers give the impression of a lack of attention to guest experience. Overall, the stay was fine, but these small touches matter, especially for a Marriott-branded property. With a bit more attention to detail, this hotel could easily deliver the level of quality guests expect.

Great hotel, horrible parking, let me elaborate. Gate open all evening pass doesn't work to get out have to go through three prompt to get help to open the damn gate. Parking gave multiple lights out and too dark! Room was decent, no hand towel bar, weird toilet paper spot pulling nerve twisting back to get tp.

The room was very comfortable, and waking up to the beach views made each morning special. I also loved how close it was to the shore, with cafés and shops just an easy walk away.

Stayed here recently to celebrate my anniversary. Outstanding upscale hotel on so many levels. Wonderful staff like Gabriel at check-in and Marc at the bar, that go out of their way to make you feel welcomed, appreciated and happy. Beautiful, clean and modern grounds and rooms, especially the king suite with it's amazing views from the balcony. Great food and drinks at the bar with outstanding service from Marc and a very ideal location just two blocks from the beach, a block from the 101 freeway and the beautiful state beach park adjacent.
